Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank

For many years, everyone here at Workshop has loved Partridge.

That’s not to say we’re all super-posh hunting types that shoot then eat game-birds on our landed estates.

No, we mean Steve Coogan’s greatest creation: Alan Partridge.

Alan, the troubled genius that he is, was the perpetrator of many moments of absolute comedy gold. None more so than when 18 years ago, in a moment of desperation, he pitched the idea of Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank to the BBC.

Now, some might say; finally, Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank is ready to grace our screens. This comes as a result of some excellent work from hostel company Hostelworld, who have created a mock trailer starring Chris Eubank himself.

Eubank himself says: “Up until recently, I had absolutely no idea why people used to mention hostels to me and smile. It was truly an unsolved mystery to me. Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank has now become a reality and finally, albeit a little embarrassed and ashamed, I’m in on the joke 18 years after Alan Partridge pitched it!”

Because we love Alan Partridge, and think that this spin-off mock trailer that Hostelworld have created is both long overdue, and a fantastic piece of marketing, we thought we just had to share it with you. So, for your viewing pleasure, here it is!
